The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a government funded agency that provides funding for Australian citizens with disabilities. Legislated in 2013, it’s expected to become fully operational by 2020.
AROUND 4.3 MILLION AUSTRALIANS ARE LIVING WITH SOME FORM OF DISABILITY
In the next five years, the NDIS is set to provide funding for support and services to an estimated 500,000 permanently and significantly disabled Australians under 65. This will be the first time for a lot of disabled citizens. This also requires businesses to register so they can get approval to become an NDIS provider.
